The aim of mobile physiotherapy or home visit physiotherapy is to provide patients with the same level of care and treatment that they would receive in a hospital or clinic setting but in the comfort and convenience of their own homes.

Mobile physiotherapy allows patients to receive treatment on their own schedule, without the need to travel to a clinic or hospital. This is particularly helpful for those who have mobility issues, live in remote areas, or have busy schedules.

On your first visit, our physiotherapist will come to your home and begin with an assessment and a discussion to get to know you, your goals and your functional needs in life. Depending on each situation they may look and assess your bedroom, bathroom, living space and house for falls risks, trip hazard and help you create a safer environment for you to move in.

They will then assess you physically and determine your range of movement, strength, posture, walking capacity, balance and special neurological tests to develop a plan with you to best progress forward.

From here depending on time and whether the physio determines it safe or not, you may be prescribed some exercises to do to improve your condition. If it is safe, our physio will show you how to complete these exercises on your own, other times we encourage and train support workers or family members how to assist so that exercising is safe for both participant and staff.
